We played our first game of the 2003 Masonite Senior League on Sunday last against Cloone in Glenfarne. The game ended all square after a tough encounter. See full report in the Sports page of this paper. A sincere thank you to Burns Bar for the providing after match refreshments.
We wish David McDermott who was injured during the game on Sunday a full and speedy recovery to full fittness in the very near future. We are all looking forward David to seeing you in the Black and White soon again. Also everyone in the club sends their best wishes to Gerard Moran of the Cloone team who was hospitalised after the game on Sunday. We sincerely hope that you will soon be back in your Cloone colours again.
Well done to our U-16 team who recently beat Sean O'Heslins. Check the Bord Na Og fixtures in the paper for details of their next game. Your support for our young stars of the future is very much appreciated
The presentation of medals to our U-14's and U-16's took place on last Friday night in the Cullentra Centre. A big thank you to Paul Taylor from the Sligo team who came to make the presentation and to everyone who put in so much work preparing sandwiches, teas and goodies for all present. Thanks to Philomena Burns for her sponsorship on this occasion.
Look out for our disco on Easter Sunday night in the Bee Park Resource Centre and our table quiz in Burns Bar on Easter Monday night. Tickets are available from any of the committee members for the table quiz.
Our junior team play Gortletteragh on next Sunday in Gortletteragh. Check fixtures in the sports page for time. All support will be appreciated.
We are indebted to John McManus, Pharmacist, Belturbet who sponsored our frist aid supplies this year.
We are currently in the process of developing a new website for the club. The url is http://www.glenfarnekiltycloghergaa.blogspot.com . All our exiles will be able to catch up on all the latest news, results and match reports. The site will be completed over the coming weeks. Anyone wishing to advertise on the site please contact Padraig McGourty at email@example.com or on 086-8106431.
Sincere sympathy to the family of the late Winnie McHugh who died last week. May she rest in peace.
