Membership
Club membership is now available. It costs €20 for family membership (Two Adults and two non-playing children), €15 for standard adult membership, €5 for student membership and €2 for all underage players. Membership forms can be obtained from Padraig McGourty @ 086-8106431. All players are reminded that in order to be eligible to play they must be fully paid up members. Closing date for obtaining membership is 1ST March.

Congratulations
Congratulations are extended to club player Thomas McDermott and his girlfriend Cara McDonnell who got engaged recently. Everyone at the club wishes them many years of happiness together.

Training
Training continues on Tuesday at 8pm, Friday at 9pm and Sunday at 11am in the park in Glenfarne. All players are asked to be in attendance and on the field at the stated times.

Tragedy
On New Years day the community of Glenfarne awoke to the horrific news that two of our young friends had been fatally injured in a traffic accident during the night. Adrian McSharry and Aidan Leonard had played football with St. Michaels N.S. and at all underage levels with Glenfarne/Kilty. Both lads excelled in all activities in which they participated. Adrian was a fantastic goalkeeper, and last year trained with the Leitrim U16’s. Adrian was also an accomplished drummer with his fellow musicians, Liam, Danny and Daniel.

Aidan was an excellent musician and he and his family provided many entertaining nights for many in the surrounding area. He was also an accomplished fisherman. He recently raised over €2000 for leukaemia by having his head shaved.

Words cannot express the sense of loss felt by the entire community. The club extends their sympathies to Seamus, Patricia and Yvonne and to Michael John, Theresa, Padraig, Michael, Brendan, Kevin and Claire. May they rest in peace.

We also wish fellow under-age player Liam Harkin, who was injured in the accident, a speedy recovery.

CLUB MEETING
There will be a club meeting next Tuesday night jan 18th in ketty’s at 9pm, all welcome.

MONTHLY 50/50 CLUB DRAW
The 50/50 Lotto draw will be held this Sunday night jan 16th in ketty’s.

2005 CALANDER
The 2005 U16 Gaa calander is available free of charge from all the local shops, please take one and help support all our sponsors.

SENIOR TRAINING
Senior training begins for the new season on Sunday January 23rd at 11am in the football field.

Adrian McSharry and Aidan Leonard

Adrian and Aidan were tragically killed in car accident outside the village of Glenfarne on Jan 1st 2005,

Adrian and Aidan, both 17, were members of our underage teams since they were aged 10, and played their part in winning numerous cups along the way.

To the McSharry and Leonard families we all express our heart felt sympathies at this time.
